University of Gloucestershire and Study Group partner to bring world-class English tuition to international students
Leading international education specialist Study Group has partnered with the University of Gloucestershire for the first time, to ensure that international students coming to study in the UK are equipped with the necessary English language tools to succeed thanks to world-class online tuition.
Starting in April 2025, Study Group will teach a Pre-Sessional English Language Preparation Online (PELPO) programme to international students who already hold a degree offer from the university but who could benefit from additional English language skills prior to starting their studies.
Before their arrival for study in the UK, offer holders will be enrolled in a Pre-Sessional English Language Preparation Online (PELPO) programme created and developed by Study Group and delivered by the company’s Digital Learning Team, who are specialised in online teaching.
The innovative online course not only covers academic-level English language but also study skills, and study insights specific to the UK, setting international students on the best possible path to success and integration into university life.
The programme is suitable for both undergraduate and postgraduate degree offer holders. Students undertake online formative and summative assessments and progress to their university programme at the end of the course if they meet the specific required English scores. PELPO is assessed using the Academic English Skills (AES) module which has been independently benchmarked and is accepted by more than 50 universities in lieu of the SELT.
This brand-new partnership demonstrates Study Group’s commitment and role as educators in ensuring that international students coming to study in the UK have all the necessary skills to join the diverse British academic world and continue to enrich this environment with their unique backgrounds.
