Study Group expands its footprint in the U.S. and North America: with key appointment of Alex Marston as General Manager
At Study Group, we are dedicated to building meaningful, long-term partnerships that support both our international students and our partner institutions. North America represents a significant opportunity for us to collaborate with a diverse range of educational institutions and to connect international students with high-quality programs and career pathways. To initiate this growth, we have built a strong portfolio of U.S. university partnerships and see tremendous potential to expand and deepen these relationships to create valuable educational journeys for students worldwide.
Anthony Claridge, Executive Director, Partner Management and Operations, Rest of World, who has been instrumental in defining Study Group’s strategic focus on North America, said: “The U.S. and the rest of North America are a cornerstone for future growth—not just as a destination, but also as a crucial hub for supporting our global partnerships.”
With continued international student growth in the U.S., Study Group will focus its strategic efforts here as a priority. In the 2022-23 academic year alone, over a million international students chose the U.S. as their study destination. Yet, with more than 4,000 higher education institutions offering a wide array of educational paths—from two-year associate degrees to highly specialized master’s programs—the United States is often referred to as a "sleeping giant" in international education. This diverse landscape, coupled with a recent focus on streamlining visa processes, means that the U.S. is an increasingly attractive option for students worldwide.
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Alex Marston as General Manager for North America. With extensive experience in both mature and emerging markets, including a decade in China and Japan, Alex is committed to building strong, collaborative partnerships. By developing innovative strategies and nurturing relationships, Alex helps educational organizations thrive in a global environment, ensuring positive outcomes for both students and institutions.
"I’m honored to take on this role and contribute to building a brighter future for Study Group in the U.S. and North America," said Alex Marston. " The region is a beacon of opportunity in international education, and I look forward to working with our partners to unlock its full potential for students around the world."
Claridge confirmed: “Alex’s appointment marks a significant step forward in Study Group's journey to bring new international educational opportunities to life in North America,” he said. “His expertise and vision are exactly what we need to deepen our relationships and grow our partnerships in the region.”
With Alex’s leadership, we look forward to redefining our footprint in the region through Study Group’s robust range of services and by strengthening our relationships with institutions, thereby making the U.S. a destination of choice for even more international students.
